Coast Path Launch

The official opening of the Ceredigion Coast Path took place on 3rd July at Gwersyll yr Urdd, Llangrannog. Jane Davidson AM, Minister for Environment Sustainability and Housing, unveiled a plinth featuring a poem about the Ceredigion coast by local poet Dic Jones, who has twice been chaired bard at the National Eisteddfod.

The opening of the Coast Path was also marked by a six-day walk of the entire Coast Path, organised by the County Council and the Ramblers Association. Starting on 4th July at Prince Charles Quay, Cardigan, the coast path walkers were sent on the way by Rhodri Morgan AM, First Minister. Rhodri Morgan later walked a section of the coast near Mwnt to take a look at works carried out under the Coast Path project.
